About GOFLUO

GOFLUO was founded in 2018 by Julie Vets. Today she’s running a full women’s team from a beautiful HQ with pink windows in Belgium.

How did the idea started?

When our founder Julie Vets was dropping off her kids to school she couldn’t bear watching this sea of ugly yellow vests.

In what countries are your products manufactured?

Our products are currently made in China. At the beginning we looked into producing more locally. Our research showed that, regardless of the location of our production, the majority of the required fabrics had to be imported from outside of europe.

As China produces the most affordable, good quality neon & reflective fabrics on the market, we decided to look for a fair transparent practice, close to our fabric factory. Our garments are produced at a safe workplace, where workers are protected and earn a fair wage.

How do you ensure that your products are being manufactured under humane conditions?

Our factory signed the Dutch sustainable garment and textile agreement. They aim to use as much sustainable, eco materials as possible and have annual meetings to exchange ideas and knowledge on sustainability. We are very confident that they will adapt the production process, in case more sustainable options are available.

Why is a bodyglower not crafted from sustainable materials?

Fluorescent and reflective materials aren’t sources you can find in nature. Therefore we cannot create products that are 100% sustainable (yet!). We do try to go for the more sustainable options when available. For example, our bags are crafted from an eco TPU. Also in our packaging we’re experimenting and researching the more sustainable options.

However, we do contribute to the bigger picture by creating products that fit the commuter lifestyle. We encourage our clients to leave the car at home and take the bicycle to work.
